Nanocomposites and nanoporous materials cover nano-architecture research including various nanostructures, such as nanoparticles, nanowires, nanorods, and nano-films, etc., with multi-phase solid materials (metals, oxides, polymers, and carbon) or high volume fractions of porosity in nano-scales. These materials have attractive functionalities according to change in physical, chemical, electrical, thermal, optical, electrochemical, and catalytic properties owing to their unique nanostructures, which can affect as an essential and important factor for use in engineering applications, such as sensors, energy-related technologies, water purification catalysts, piezoelectrics, thermoresistors, electro-photonics, hit gas filtration, drug delivery etc. This session aims to provide the processing, synthesis approaches, functionalization, characterizations, and applications of novel and state-of-the-art nanocomposites and nanoporous materials.
